The Anderson Athletic Park Pool, constructed in 1925, was designed by engineer and entrepreneur Wesley Bintz. The unusual design, patented by Bintz, created an egg-shaped, above-ground swimming pool with changing rooms below the pool deck. The Anderson Athletic Pool is one of the few Bintz-designed pools left in the country and the only example remaining in Indiana. The Anderson Athletic Park Pool has been vacant since 2007 and was placed on Indiana Landmarks’ 10 Most Endangered List in 2013.

The City of Anderson selected RATIO to lead a team to prepare a Historic Structure Report consisting of condition assessments and recommendations related to the long-term preservation of the Anderson Athletic Park Pool.

As Project Architect and Preservation Specialist, I was responsible for documenting and assisting with the complete assessment of the building, completing measured drawings of the building and site, and assisting with preparing the report.
